The Centennial Memorial Fountain, located in Parramatta CBD’s Centenary Square, it is the last surviving legacy of Parramatta’s Centenary Celebrations of 1888. It remains an important feature of the busy streetscape of Parramatta.
Excelsis Projects was engaged by City of Parramatta Council to carry out restoration and conservation work to the Memorial Fountain under the instruction of Lucas Stapleton Johnson & Partners.
Notable improvements included desalination and cleaning of the stonework; repointing and mortar patch repairs; installing new lead weathering to protect the stonework from further damage; putting the clock back in working order, and cleaning and painting the clock faces; installing a new stone step and reinstating the existing steps.
This quality and detailed restoration is a testament to our team’s commitment to excellence.
