St Joseph’s Convent Chapel

This project involved the design, renovation and beautification of the chapel at St Joseph Convent in Regents Park. The client’s objective was to improve practical elements of the chapel as well as enhance and beautify the sanctuary space.

Our involvement started at the concept design phase, working with the client and architect Sidney Rofe to achieve a design that was not only beautiful, but also achieved a sense of openness and simplicity despite being limited by the chapel’s low ceilings.

We then undertook works including a partial remodel of the sanctuary, installation of a false ceiling and lighting, and addition of new windows and air conditioning. Custom liturgical furnishings were installed in the sanctuary which were hand-crafted locally in timber oak. Beautification elements included restoration of the brass tabernacle, installation of new statues and enhancements to the Stations of the Cross.

Our team took great care to ensure this project achieved the noble simplicity and beauty that was desired by the client.
