Excelsis Projects completed beautification and renovation works to the Holy Family Catholic Church in Menai NSW.
Prior to the works, the interior of the church had an unconventional layout and simple liturgical fixtures that was consistent with its contemporary and minimalist style. With a sparse altar, blank walls and plastic chairs, the parishioners of Holy Family desired a space that was beautiful and inspired a deeper spiritual connection.
Plans for a new interior were designed by Michael Suttie, architect, and included a new sanctuary, confessional, choir stage and congregational seating. For the new sanctuary, thirty-six tonnes of marble was imported to build a new altar, a two-storey high reredos, baptismal font, ambo and bas-relief sculpture. The flawless execution of these elements is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of our talented team.
